Teachers

Adesh

Adesh has been teaching Kundalini yoga for 10 years, and combined it with her second love Ashtanga Vinyasa and created a revolutionary style of yoga called Kundinyasa®.  Her classes are fun but can get gnarly so come prepared to work!  They are a perfect balance of physical effort and deep spiritual experience facilitated by breath work, mantra, meditation and the primordial vibration of the Sun and Jupiter Gongs during sivasana.  Kundinyasa is a form of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion to the Divine.  That theme is always present in her classes.  She studied under first generation senior teachers Sat Jiwan Singh and Sat Jiwan Kaur in NYC at Kundalini Yoga East and received her Kundalini Yoga Certification in 2003.  Adesh also trained under senior teacher Anne Nowell and received her Yoga Instructor certification with emphasis in the methods of the Krishnamacharya Lineage, primarily Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vini Yoga, in 2008.  Over the past 4 years she has developed, trademarked and branded this new style of yoga called Kundinyasa®.  She is keeping the teachings of Kundalini Yoga exactly as they were passed down from Yogi Bhajan.  What she is doing differently is reintroducing the essential knowledge and practices of Hatha yoga using the Ahstanga Vinyasa system to prepare the students bodies to do the practices with more precision and ease, thereby allowing them to achieve deeper exalted states.  200 Hr Yoga Alliance recognized Kundinyasa Yoga Teacher Trainings are currently held every March at Mystic Water.

Leah

Leah has been practicing yoga for over 6 years.  Leah spent many years training in the martial arts form of Wado Kai and achieved her brown belt.  She was introduced to yoga from a friend after struggling for years with back problems. Leah saw immediate benefits from practicing yoga in her overall well being.  With a scientific background and working within the research arena seeing the benefits of yoga first hand resonated with her scientific curiosity. From then on she began furthering her practice and received her ERT-200 hour certification from the La Jolla Yoga Center.  She is inspired by instructor such as Erich Schiffmann, Martin Kirk, Bonnie Jones, Carolina Vivas, and Amanda McCarroll. Her classes both challenge and energize by combining flow sequences, core strengthening, balancing and flexibility.

breath, and maintain a focus on stretching, building strength, inner fire, mindfulness, and balance.  Giving verbal cues and tactile adjustments ensures safe alignment and support throughout the experience.  Having learned from teachers around the world, Sharyn has experienced a wide array of yoga ‘styles’ and believes that there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to practice.  What’s important is connecting to and trusting one’s own inner teacher and inner wisdom.  Sharyn completed most of her yoga certifications through San Diego’s Deep Yoga School of Healing Arts.  She is a certified Yoga Therapist and Vedic Healer as well as a Holistic Health Practitioner with a specialty in therapeutic massage.  She conducts workshops and teaches yoga across the country and is happy to call the beautiful state of California home!
