Mystic Water Kava Bar and Yoga Studio’s Reviews on Yelp:

“The only time I had tried kava prior to this was at Kava Lounge with my partner, who had his first taste of kava in Kiribati (a Micronesian island). Long story short, their kava really wasn’t that great, so we tried searching for another place in San Diego that served some… but to no avail.

Well, this was 9 months ago, and I was happy to find that yesterday when I searched “kava” on Yelp, this place came up! My partner and I decided to try it out last night, and we were both very happy with our experience here. The owners and even the patrons were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was veryy chill. And of course, the kava was bomb. And it happened to be Ladies’ Night, too, so I got one on the house! :)

I’m definitely coming back and bringing friends. I’d love to try out their yoga sometime, too, although I’m still a little weary because I got surgery on a meniscal tear back in July (which I got from doing yoga at Corepower Yoga, by the way -______-)” – Paola R., San Diego

“All I have to say is, ‘tree of life”. It was the first thing I noticed in this place.
The dim lighting, chill music and over all nice energy was inviting.
I have only so far had the hot chai and I tell you, I could drink that stuff all day and night. It’s the real deal, not that sugar filled crap mix you buy at the store or get mixed into you chai latte at a coffee shop. They make this stuff from scratch with love. It’s sweetened with organic maple syrup and is not very sweet at all.

The chai has a nice spicy kick to it. They also serve up fresh coconut water and of course kava.

It’s my understanding that the space is used for meditation groups, yoga and other small group events of the holistic nature.
I will certainly be frequenting this spot from now on. It would be a great atmosphere to read a book, study, do art or anything else that would be low key and benefit from a calm surrounding.

if this sounds like your kind of place, do yourself a favor and check it out and do not leave without trying the chai !” – Gerg G., San Diego

“I love kava, I love Mystic Water, I love the people that come in, I have made so many friends. I also enjoy the variety of classes Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Kettlebell Training. The classes inspire a deeper connection to source and are invaluable tools for growth. In fact I’m going there tonight!” – Brandi M., San Diego

“Amazing place. The ambiance is incredible!!! The kava was great and the Chai Tea…even better. Honestly, the best I’ve ever had and I’m a huge tea drinker. I will definitely be frequenting this place. So excited this place moved to my neighborhood and can’t wait to try the yoga.” – Coraly S., San Diego

“Most of the reviews here discuss the Yoga practice offered by Mystic Water. I can’t speak to that, since I have never practiced Yoga before. But what I can speak to is the Kava. I love Kava, I live Kava, I drink Kava everyday.

First of all, I want to emphasize how friendly and hospitable the staff at Mystic Water Kava Bar are. They truly want you to enjoy yourself and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The environment is very peaceful. More than anything else, this is what makes Mystic Water a great place to be.

The artwork and general layout of the bar is beautiful. The bar has an eye-shape and is overtaken by two imitation trees that emerge out of two of the walls and crowd the ceiling. It is quite beautiful, an creates a nice ambiance. Combined with world and ambient music, the effect is quite relaxing in and of itself. But the Kava..

I blog about Kava on the internet and review different strains and varieties of Kava (see the link below). I have tasted over 50 varieties of Kava over the years from all over the world – Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Papau New Guinea, and Hawaii (just to name a few). The type of Kava served at Mystic Water is a Vanuatuan strain that is mid-strength, but very suitable for the social environment provided by Mystic Water. If you want a real Kava experience, you will get it. Most people are hesitant to try Kava because of false negative publicity, as well as its “dirt” like flavor. Well, the Kava served at Mystic Water is just about as mild as you are going to get in terms of flavor. Luckily, the bar has coconut water, fresh pineapple, and other items on the menu to chase down the flavor. So, if you don’t like the flavor or Kava (which I actually do), then you will be set to follow it up with something sweeter.

Honestly, this is a great place to find solace in our busy city. Find time in the evening to visit sometime, and you will surely feel your stress drift away, if only momentarily.” – Douglas L., San Diego

“Was in town from LA for a conference and took the kund-inyasa class with Adesh! It definitely gave me the meditative depth I was seeking. This place is a trip, in a good way! I tried a shot of kava before and after yoga! The free chai after class with the perfect topper to a wonderful evening. Thank you Mystic Water Kava Bar….
